Biography

Song Tao, Chief Physician, Doctoral Supervisor, Ph.D. in Plastic Surgery, Director of the Cleft Lip and Palate Center, Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Visiting Scholar in Plastic Surgery at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard University, and Visiting Scholar in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan.

Specialties:
1. Repair of cleft lip, cleft palate, alveolar cleft, and secondary deformities; skilled in the correction of jaw deformities associated with cleft lip and palate; first proposed a classification of jaw deformities in cleft lip and palate; independently developed multiple original surgical procedures for jaw deformity correction and holds related patents.
2. Lip contouring, lip shortening and lengthening, thick-lip reduction and reshaping, lip scar revision, etc.
3. Craniomaxillofacial surgery, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, mandibular angle and zygomatic plasty, genioplasty, correction of underbite and overbite, etc.
4. Liposuction, fat grafting, double eyelid surgery, lower blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, and other aesthetic procedures.
5. Scar revision, tissue expansion technique, etc.

Principal investigator of one National Natural Science Foundation of China project, one Beijing Municipal Special Project for Characteristic Clinical Medicine, one Peking Union Medical College Youth Science Fund project, and one institute/hospital fund project; participated in multiple national and provincial/ministerial projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and Doctoral Program Foundation of the Ministry of Education. Participated in the compilation of one plastic surgery monograph.
